** USED** Vox - AC30 Top Boost All Valve Combo Early '60s

** USED** Vox - AC30 Top Boost All Valve Combo Early '60s

Price: £1,450.00

Quantity:

This is a classic Vox combo from circa 1963-1965.

This is a top boost model, valve rectified AC30 from the early '60s which has been well looked after and maintained. It has the two tone pots for treble and bass on the back. It's complete with the original Vib-Trem, die cast footswitch.
Both inputs on all three channels (Brilliant, Normal and Vib-Trem) work perfectly.

It has a pair of Vox/ Jennings of Dartford, Blue bulldog alnico speakers (originals), which sound great and really push some air when the wick is wound up on this classic amp.
A Multi- voltage selector is included in the control panel covering 115-245V.

Nothing much to add regarding the functions of this amp. If you're looking for one, you know what they do!

Condition-wise there are some scuffs on the tolex which have been collected over 40 years, as can been seen in the photo. The cloth is in one piece and in pretty good condition, showing some shadows through to the speaker mounts.
The outside transverse handles have been moved at some point to afford better purchase into the cabinet, but all three handles are original and very fit for the purpose.

Due to weight, bulk and the absense of a box for shipping, this iconic amp is being sold for collection only.
If you really want it shipped please call +44(0)1494 533554 and discuss it with Steve.

This is a truly great opportunity to own a classic Vox Ac30 in great working order, for a fair price. The blue bulldog speakers alone are worth £200 each. The price guides suggest £1,600-£1,800. Serious prospective buyers can try the amp at BBZ showroom in High Wycombe. We think if you try it you'll definitey buy it.

** USED** Laney - World Series 80R Combo Amp

** USED** Laney - World Series 80R Combo Amp

Price: £185.00

Quantity:

This is a great Laney solid state combo, made in England

This is a circa '90s Laney WS80R 80 watt combo amp with twin channels and a single 12" speaker. Laney's claim is that this amplifier will emulate just about any type of amplifier on the market. With plenty of head room and crystal clean tones as well as overdriven and crunch type tones, it's certainly an extremely versitile amplifier which can deliver Extreme Overdrive, Heavy Crunch Chord, Thrash, Country (lead and fingerpicking), Modern and Vintage Blues, Jazz Solo and Jazz Chord tones. There's a seperate reverb control as well as independent reverbs on each channel. This amp can take as input up to two different instruments and you can also run your guitar through both channels 'mixed'.
On the back there are;
- a send and return effects loop
- a headphone socket
- a DI out (1/4" Jack)

What a great versitile and if required LOUD amp for a bargain price.

This amp is collection ONLY. If you really want it shipped, please be aware that the amp is quite heavy and we don't have a box for it so cost of packaging and shipping will be quite high, even providing them at cost.

Gibson- Historic Collection '57 Gold Top ('90s)

Gibson- Historic Collection '57 Gold Top ('90s)

Price: £1,685.00

Quantity:

Rare Opportunity to get a '90s Gibson '57 Historic Collection Goldtop Les Paul

This is a great example of a limited run Historic Collection '57 Reissue Les Paul Gold Top guitar.
It has been fitted with locking tuners and Schaller Strap Locks by the previous owner and comes in the Brown/ Pink Gibson hard case.

Not much to add to the general features of this guitar. It has a '50s neck (of course), which is a D shape and is fitted with authentic Patent Applied For (PAF) humbuckers. It's what is called a 'darkback', this is the authentic dark brown/ black colour of the back and sides. The feel of this guitar is superb, it almost plays itself. It has been set up by BBZ with a low, fast action and re-strung in an over stop bar Zakk Wilde/ Joe Bonamassa style.

Condition-wise the guitar's frets are in great condition, the neck is true, the electrics are spot on. There are no 'structural' defects. The top is in 8/10 condition. The nickel humbucker covers, tune-o-matic and stop bar have all aged beautifully. The back displays some buckle rash and there's a slight ding out of one of the ends of the moustache part of the headstock (very common). The basic 'platform' is superb and just looks spot on.

This is a collectible item!

Another rare opportunity to own a Gibson Explorer in excellent condition. This guitar comes with the original Black Gibson hard case.

The '76 reissue came with the beautiful ebony fretboard, two open coil Gibson hot humbuckers, dot markers and nickel hardware.

If you're looking for one of these, then you know the details about these HUGE guitars.
This guitar has been fully set-up by BBZ and plays like a dream.

Condition-wise the frets are great. All the electrics are spot on and there's no breaks of significant damage.
As always a little buckle rash on the back (about the size of a 10p).

This guitar can do it all... And for a bargain price, if you try it you'll buy it, it won't be around for long.

Hofner- Original Blonde 1957 Hofner President Hollow Body Electric
OUT OF STOCK

Hofner- Original Blonde 1957 Hofner President Hollow Body Electric

Price: £899.00

Quantity:

Why pay £2,000+ for a re-issue (copy) of this guitar when you can get the original for less than £900 from BBZ?

Vintage and rare 1957 Hofner President hollow body electric guitar with original hard case.

A great example of this guitar from 1957. George Harrison, Tommy Steele and many others used these guitars in the late '50s.

This guitar has been brought back to perfect working order by BBZ and has a superb playing action, strung with 11s.

Made in 1957 the guitar is in the blonde finish favoured by many and has two wooden mount single coil pickups, tortoiseshell pickguard, tortoiseshell oval control panel (all original pots), two pickup switches, 2 x tone and 2 x volume knobs and chrome compensated fan tail piece.

It sounds fantastic!!!
If you're looking for one of these, you know the score.

It has a grained top with flamed back and sides (all solid), and aged ivory binding on the top, neck and headstock.

Condition-wise there are a few marks on the back and top which is expected for a 52 year old guitar, the frets are in astounding condition. The neck is straight and true, as there's a strengthening H bar rather than a truss-rod, the neck has stayed beautifully playable.
Topped off with original tuners, HOFNER logo and decorated, bound headstock.

The original hard case comes with the guitar. This has protected the guitar for 50+ years so it has seen better days. We have replaced the leather handle as the original was missing, the interior could do with a little light maintenance, but the latches work well. In the case compartment you will find the original 1950s jack cable with solderless 1/4" large jacks... The cable needs replacing as the screening it offers doesn't hold up to today's standards.

Collectors will understand that we will not ship this guitar as the possibility that a rare, investment grade instrument might be damaged is too great. However, if your serious about the guitar we recommend you come to BBZ Showroom and try out the guitar, buy it and 'take it away'!

This is a very special May price, which will increase in-line with its true value as of June 1st, 2009.

**Used** Tokai 1984 Goldstar Sound 'Strat' - Cream with white scratchplate

Price: £550.00

Quantity:

USED Beautiful 1984 Tokai (Japan) Goldstar Sound 'Strat'!

Superbly hand crafted in Japan, these are seriously good, rare, collectible and sought after guitars!

This is a used example from 1984 which has upgraded MAR hand wound pickups (www.marpickups.de)
and has been wired like an Eric Johnson Fender Strat, such that the tone pots are wired for the neck and bridge pickups, instead of the neck and middle pickup as with many standard Fenders. Such a simple mod which delivers a far broader range of available tones.
Solid highly resonant alder body with a 'fast' Maple (C Profile) neck and rosewood fingerboard. Previously owned by a professional Guitar Tech to a very famous band the guitar has been well cared for and maintained.

These guitars were so good that the late-great Stevie Ray Vaughan endorsed them during the so called lawsuit period.

It's in excellent condition with just a couple of minor use marks. The frets show some wear as would be expected for a guitar of 25 year's vintage. The wear does not impair the playability of the guitar and will not require a re-fret for quite some time.

The MAR hand wound single coil pickups are superbly voiced, real tone monsters.
The guitar has additionally been totally screened with copper shielding for almost silent operation, even under fluorescent lighting and no earth hum!!

The bridge has been locked back for use without the whammy bar, this can be reversed easily.
The guitar comes with a Gator hard case included, which would cost about £100 new!

Well worth the £550 price we're asking.

**Used** Squier By Fender - Made in Japan '93 Silver Series Strat

**Used** Squier By Fender - Made in Japan '93 Silver Series Strat

Price: £225.00

Quantity:

USED Silver Series Red Stratocaster- Made in Japan!

This is a Squier Fender Stratocaster Silver Series in red made in Japan in '93.

It has a one piece maple fretboard with 'skunk stripe', Firenza Red finished solid poplar body. The black control knobs, scratchplate and pickup covers, really set off the beautiful red finish against the Maple fretboard.

At this time Fender Japan were pretty much just labelling up Fenders and Squiers from the same production.
It has Gotoh tuners and has been modded slightly so the lower tone control adjusts the tone on the bridge pickup.

It sounds superb and has a real 'vintage' feel to it.
The trem is adjusted right back so it is effectively blocked, but it comes with the whammy bar and can be unblocked easily, if you require.

Condition wise it is really very good. A couple of very small dings and a little lacquer wear on the fretboard.

Naturally the guitar has been full set up to play optimally by BBZ.

We offer a fitting service on this guitar, so if you want different string gauges or have personal set up requirements, we'd be happy to help.
